NCT WISH’s Awkward Radio Scandal: “Frozen on Air” – Fans and Viewers Weigh In

A recent online post has sparked fresh discussions about the ongoing attitude controversy surrounding SM Entertainment’s rookie boy group NCT WISH. While the issue may seem sudden to some, many fans and casual viewers argue that “it was bound to happen.”

NCT WISH Faces Backlash Over Alleged Poor Attitude During Radio Appearance

One viral post, titled NCT WISH’s Attitude Controversy Was Inevitable”, captured the sentiment of many netizens who’ve observed the group’s appearances on various broadcasts. The user claimed, “Even people who aren’t fans but have occasionally seen NCT WISH on broadcasts would know this isn’t some random forced hate, it was coming.”

According to the post:

Every time a clip of them surfaces, the atmosphere feels awkward, like they’re holding back, and it always looks like only the Korean members are putting in all the effort. I used to think, “Maybe they’re just shy because they’re rookies,” but honestly, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

They all seem like introverts, so I also thought maybe they’re just naturally quiet, but even if you’re new or introverted, having zero reaction, speaking half-heartedly, making people feel awkward, and having no back-and-forth at all on a broadcast? That’s more of a behavior issue. Foreigners or not, having no expressions or reactions like that just doesn’t make sense.

Personally, I liked their song during “Steady” era and started to take an interest in Sakuya, but I really hope they work on their attitude.

While NCT WISH consists of international members, many viewers feel that being foreign is no excuse for a total lack of reaction or expression, especially on Korean variety programs where energy and chemistry are key.

  1. To be honest, I don’t even think their visuals are particularly outstanding.. f*ck
  2. Agreed they don’t seem to show much sense of urgency or passion.
  3. Exactly what’s frustrating isn’t that they’re awkward or reserved, but that there’s barely any visible effort. Even if they’re quiet or stiff, people would be understanding if they just looked like they were trying. But every time, it’s the same no words, no reactions, no awareness of the vibe. It’s baffling. Hopefully this controversy will be a real wake-up call.
  4. Same here honestly, the only times I’ve ever heard their name were when there was some kind of attitude controversy going around.
  5. Seems like SM hasn’t learned much from past incidents like the Irene or RIIZE attitude controversies it’s just the same cycle all over again.

Now, the group’s professionalism and team chemistry are being questioned. The situation has left fans wondering whether the group, and the company, will address the criticisms and show improvement in their future appearances.
